All too often, we go through life tackling task after task, making sure we get the things we need to do done. When was the last time you just stopped and let it all sink in how much you’ve accomplished? When was the last time you just sat in gratitude and acceptance for that one, single moment?
Each morning, before I start working on the computer, my dog loves to jump into my lap and cuddle with me. It’s become ritual and in those precious few minutes, I try to quiet my thoughts and just be aware of how this is her favorite time of day, when she has me all to herself. The least I can do is be mindful about my time with her, and it has transformed into one of my favorite times as well. Being able to sit with her and let her sit in my lap, feeling the love radiate between us – at the end of the day (or the beginning, for us), that’s what matters most.
So I invite you now, to take a moment and just sit and reflect. Do you give yourself enough pats on the back for a job well done so far? I think you’re doing a splendid job, well done indeed.
