Some of the best treasures one can give or receive include kind words, like words of encouragement, gratitude, and thoughtfulness. For myself, I am grateful that I surround myself with good people who really focus on helping each other out on many different levels. Over the years, I’ve kept my good friends close and let other acquaintances fall away as I realize it’s just easier and healthier for me to live without so much negativity. I know I can count on the people in my life to help raise me up when I need it.
Early on, I’ve realized how one’s words can really make or break a person’s day. In light of that, why not use your voice to spread light and joy? That is the message Emerald shares today. In every message that is spoken or communicated, find the good and choose to share that. Let the rest fall away. You know how genuinely kind and good and thoughtful you are – let others come to know that as the true you, the treasure you are.
Use your voice for light and truth, but don’t ram your truth down other people’s throats either. Recognize that you and I are sovereign and what may be your truth is not necessarily someone else’s. The message for today really is to honor and respect everyone around you – including yourself.
Keep the self-talk from being harsh or negative. Treat yourself well, just as you would any other individual you come across. Open up in candid conversation and be mindful of others’ opinions. You can learn from others just as they can learn from you. And in the spirit of learning, it’s good to know that there are still some outlets like National Public Radio that allow one to well educated without the crazy polarization spin much of the media is giving.
