After two weeks into building your meditation practice, I hope that you are starting to see the benefits that that this practice can bring. These benefits include things like enhanced focusing on the present moment, stress reduction, and overall being more grounded. And even if you are not finding that shift yet, don’t lose hope. Keep practicing and eventually these benefits will start adding up to make noticeable differences to your life and overall well-being.
For this week, the crystals want you to engage your physical body more at a base level. The sensation of touch gives you so much information about the outside world to you. It’s a sense that can easily be taken for granted but bringing your attention to those items you physically come in contact with each moment can help you instantly engage in the present.
To assist, the warm energies of red jasper, garnet, and red tiger’s eye as well as the grounded energies of jet, snowflake obsidian, and hematite are all available to help you get back in touch with your physical body this week. When you go about your day, take a few moments here and there to notice the sensations your body is feeling. Bring awareness to not only the items you touch with your hands but also to the way your clothes feel on your skin and the temperature of the air around you as you move about your arms and legs.
Should you take a few moments when you are in rest and on pause from your daily tasks, you may want to consider meditating on the sensations you feel as you engage on one of the actions below.
- Run your hands up and down some freshly laundered clothing or bedding.
- Pet a dog, cat, or other animal nearby.
- Brush your hair with our fingers and hands.
- Rub your hands together slowly and notice warmth building up.
- Let your hand down into flowing water, like a stream or river.
In those times and instances where you find your mind drifting, come back to the present moment by noticing how your body physically feels. Continuing to practice this awareness will easily help you stay grounded and centered in the now.
