How did your attempts with visual meditations go for you? Did you find the practice easy to engage in? What challenges came up for you, if any? Were you able to notice any improvement to your ability to focus and keep your attention in the present moment?
Meditation does take practice and it does become easier over time. See if you can slowly build up your practice time from a minute or few minutes to longer. There is no ultimate goal here but for you to find what feels optimal for you in terms of practice length and type.
This week, focus on auditory meditations. A number of crystals can help here – look to the light blues of Kyanite, Blue Calcite, Blue Quartz, and others to assist you this week. Their energies all work with your throat chakra, which is the seat of your communication center. As such, they also work with your auditory system, helping you to hear what is going on around you.
With so much negative information washing over you from news, social media, gossip, etc., it is important to start becoming more selective of what we allow into our personal space. So for the next week, the crystals invite you to meditate and focus on what brings beauty to your life. Listening to the following sounds will help. Allow these gentle, soothing sounds and vibrations to resonate deep into your core and bring you moments of peace and solace when you need it.
- Listen to music – try something outside your normal genre that doesn’t have words, like jazz or classical.
- Listen to birdsong.
- Listen to the water – waves crashing, waterfalls, rain.
- Listen to thunder rumbling.
- Listen to a cat purring.
- Listen to wind or wind chimes.
There are also guided meditations for you to listen to readily available here and elsewhere. Find what resonates with you and allow yourself the time and space to go deep into your meditations.
