Have you heard the saying, ‘What you think will come true?’ It’s the basis for setting an intention. Focusing on what you want is the first step towards making something happen. The second part of that, letting go, is harder.
The trick really is to let go. These past couple of days have been a game for me really, setting an intention and watching the miracles happen that day.
For example, last week, I decided I wanted a travel yoga mat to take for my retreat. I was going to go to REI to get one but checked in and got a no, that’s not where it’d be, it was going to be at Target. I still needed to go to REI and ended up getting a new pair of really comfortable shoes to replace my worn out pair. And lucky me, it was the last pair in my size.
Next up, the Target trip. I went to the sporting goods section and looked and looked but all they had were the standard yoga mats. Checking in, I got that I couldn’t leave quite yet, that it was around somewhere. Well, I eventually rounded the corner and there it was, the last travel yoga mat in a spot where it shouldn’t have been, but it was there. And it fit into my luggage perfectly.
Yesterday, I set the intention that I and all the other retreat members would have safe, easy travels. Lucky me, I was ‘chosen’ to go through the TSA pre-screen check so I didn’t need to bother with taking off my shoes or taking out my laptop and liquids. Granted, I’m already efficient with the airport process with all the flying I’ve done the past three+ years but still, it was a nice treat.
And now I’m in Colorado Springs for the weekend with a great group of people. I got started with my day meditating and then doing some yoga. The view of our room overlooks the mountains…
Yup, life is good. Let’s see what else I can create today…
