For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamt, often in waves, and the dreams are usually quite detailed. I’ve written down and journaled my dreams over years and it still amazes me how I can pick up an old journal, read a line of a dream, and be instantly brought back to that very vision.
I haven’t been as good about interpreting dreams, knowing that there’s a lot of symbolism that can be had in them, but at least I’m writing them down. Five stories are in the works because of such compelling dream sequences. Those will come, hopefully the first one will be out later this year (I’m hoping June, but we’ll see).
In the meantime, it looks like my double life as some kind of covert mission worker continues to play on in dream land. Yesterday, I was at a safe house by the beach (a rocky one at that) recovering from the latest mission with fellow team members. This morning, I was role playing Lucy Liu in an off shoot of Charlie’s Angels, going after my fancy breakfast companion who went to schmooze with the wrong crowd and left with them. Did I mention I was wearing a short summer dress and was going to attempt to go after them on a beach cruiser? And my left shoulder was weighed down by a very, very heavy white beach bag?
Hmm… I think the beach is trying to say something to me too if it showed up with those two references. Another dream this morning, non action related, involved me taking pictures with two of my optometry school friends and we were at a beach boardwalk.
I think it’s time to start planning a trip to the ocean again – it’s calling to me… And fun… The picture I found above gives a lot of the feel from yesterday’s dream… Except that I was looking through a long wall of glass windows and doors… so there was no sill… with no bird… and the boulders outside were more, stretching for a bigger area… It was a very nice beach house…
