It looks like we’re continuing on from yesterday’s reading. Today’s stone, Bloodstone, heightens the intuition and increases creativity. Bloodstone is an excellent grounding and protecting stone, keeping out any undesirable influences. Unsurprisingly, it helps to give courage, encourages selflessness and idealism, and assists you in acting in the present moment.
In terms of its relation to a firm foundation, it helps to calm the mind, dispel confusion, and enhance decision making. I take that as it quiets all the mental chatter so we can firmly get in touch with our own, personal foundation. Our roots, our ideas, our deep down knowings and Truths – those all make up bits and pieces and add to our foundation, and when we tap into that and make decisions from that deep stillness we have in each of us, then there really is no such thing as a wrong or poorly made decision. There are only choices to make and lessons to continue to learn and grow from.
Lastly, the physical image of this card highlights the lower back. All through today, pay attention to that area of your body. See if there’s any aches or pains, anything that needs to be gently stretched or massaged. Many of us, myself included, hold tension and stress in this part of the area. Be gentle here – it’s the foundation for the rest of the body. If that area is unsupported, then you can assume that the rest of the body is compensating to try and make up for it.
When you sit, really take a few moments to notice your anchoring to the seat underneath you. Feel the support of the chair and imagine roots (or cords or light or whatever comes to mind) coming from the bottom of your torso and connecting with the chair and going through down into the earth. Hold this image for a minute or so and continue as needed throughout the day to give you the physical remembrance of being firmly supported and getting in touch with your physical foundation.
